Breaking Rules – Central Texas Portrait Photographer

I’ve never really been a rule breaker. That’s just not my thing. I usually play it safe. Recently, I decided that I really wanted to do a session where I felt free to break a few rules here and there. I wanted to be able to shoot exactly how I wanted and edit how I wanted. I am thankful that Gabrielle, my lovely model for this session, was up for whatever I had in mind. Now, I know I’m not reinventing the wheel with this session or anything, but stylistically this is much more ME and you’re going to see a lot more of this kind of thing from me moving forward. I’m having fun! I’m falling in love with photography all over again. I’m still learning to step outside of what I’m comfortable with and this is a step in the right direction. I have a TON of work left to do, ideas that I want to see come to life, and the passion to make it happen. These are a few favorites:

Madison {Senior Pictures}

I’m 100% convinced that I have the most awesome senior clients ever! This is Madison. She is beautiful, very sweet, and lots of fun. This shoot was effortless. Madison was a natural and seemed to know what I was going to ask her to do before the words left my mouth. Thank you again to Madison and her mother, Diane, for a great afternoon. I would also like to thank the owners of The Gin at Nolan Creek restaurant in Belton for allowing us to photograph inside (I also hear the food is super awesome!!). I love the shots we were able to capture! As a side note…..I LOVE LOVE LOVE photographing seniors!!

New Favorites and New Things | Central Texas Portrait Photographer

It’s that time of year again where I start looking at my blog, my website (which is in desperate need of a complete overhaul) and where my photography style begins to change with greater frequency. None of these are bad things, but they are always time consuming so I hope you will be patient with me as I begin to change things up around here once again. I can’t help it! I just like the idea of a fresh new start to the New Year that’s approaching VERY quickly. Stay tuned!

I am currently editing a family session from last week and these are a couple of my very favorite images so far. The location was gorgeous and literally in their backyard. I can’t imagine having a backyard like this. I would never want to leave it and I would constantly be asking people over to take their picture.

Guys usually come into the senior session really shy and nervous, but I didn’t get that vibe from Kyle at all. (Kyle, if you were feelin’ any of that then you are an awesome actor!!) He was fantastic from start to finish. Always smiling, always willing to do what I suggested even if it seemed a little weird. ”Yes, lean against the wall…yes, really close! I promise it will look awesome!!” He even suggested a couple of spots to shoot in. I’m so glad he did, because I think they made great backgrounds! Kyle is an incredibly nice guy and yes, very cute! I mean, right?! Look at that smile! Thanks so much, Kyle, for being an overall great guy and really fun and easy going. Here are a few of my favorites from the day:

Sweet. Fun. Beautiful. Yep, that’s Kelsi. This is a quick look from her senior portraits. I have some brave seniors this year willing to take on this crazy Texas heat. I think I’ve also lost at least five pounds between my last two sessions. Still, I wouldn’t trade this for anything. I’m having a blast and meeting seniors like Kelsi makes it completely worth it. Love is Amazing…

Babies are true blessings. This is my cousins new addition to the family and my first newborn shoot ever. I am finishing the final touches for a wedding right now, but wanted to share this one image. I hope that everyone is having a fantastic week so far. I can’t believe this heat or the fact that June is practically over. Time really does fly. : ) More to come from this session as soon as I’ve completed all of the wedding images. I’m so excited to share those with you guys, too! -Steph

Isn’t She Lovely?! – Central Texas Tx Portrait Photographer

Our cousin Jocilynn was visiting recently and we HAD to take pictures while she was here. Seriously, look at her! She makes my camera look amazing! The heat was somewhere in the 100′s the evening we decided to do this shoot, but we were having so much fun that I didn’t really notice it. Jocilynn is interested in modeling, so we thought it would be especially fun to get in some shots of her before she becomes super famous one day. This was her first photo session and she was brilliant! She owned it! We are so proud of her loving heart and just the overall sweetness that she projects. She’s a truly amazing girl and we love her very much!! Big thanks to Tia Connie for helping with her quick outfit changes and for your loving support of my work. Mark and Kimberly – Thanks for loaning us your kiddo for an evening! And Joci – YOU’RE AWESOME!!!!!!

What?! Could it be?! Why yes, yes it is….it’s another blog post! This makes two in a row. I will celebrate for this week only, knowing that I may be back here next week saying how awful I was for going several days without a post. There have been lots of new visitors to the blog this past month and I am so thankful for all of you for taking time to view my work. Today I want to share some sample images of products, more specifically, High School Senior invitations. This invitation is printed on the front and back of 5×7 press paper (cardstock). There is a mininum order of 100 cards (yes, they do come with envelopes). I have a lot of fun designing these. I work hard to ensure that each clients personality comes through while maintaining a clean design aesthetic. I hope you guys enjoy viewing these as much as I enjoy creating them.
